Converting dimensions from millimetres to inches

Users needing to convert dimensions from mm to inches.
Standard permissions are required.
Some projects require dimensions in a different unit than the one used when the drawing was ballooned, such as converting from millimetres to inches with the inch symbol displayed on the exported report.
This article explains how to convert dimensions within a report.
Setting up a report style with inches tolerances
To configure the report style in Site Configuration:
- Open the report style.
- Go to the Tolerances / Notes tab.
Each row represents either a numeric tolerance (such as +/- 2 DEG) or a non-numeric note (such as All dimensions in Inches or All dimensions in Millimetres).
To create a new report style, or edit an existing report style, you must have Siteadmin login credentials.
Adding Tolerance rows
To add or edit tolerance rows:
Select the "+" button to insert a new row:
To enter symbols (such as for degrees, or GDT FCF's), right-click on the value field, and add the symbols as appropriate:
- When done editing, save the new values, and close the Site Configuration app.
Applying the report style to the part
To apply the configured report style:
Be sure to synchronize in the repository view:
- Open the part in the FAIR app.
- Go to Settings → General to open General Settings.
- Set the Report Style dropdown to the report style you configured in Site Configuration.
